Festival MOZART
Founded in 1995, the Festival is a unique chamber music event. It draws its particularity from the exceptional number of International musicians of international that it brings together. The artists arrive in Waterloo a few days before the first concert and stay in residence until the end of the festival. During this period, one can speak of a real emulation: the musicians live and work together.
Since its inception, the Festival Mozart has given more than 170 concerts and brought together over 120 artists, including a significant number of internationally renowned foreign musicians, Young artists beginning their carreer, Composer in residence, as well as painters, violin makers etc.
The concerts are mainly given in Waterloo, notably at the modern Saint-Paul church, where the festival was created 25 years ago.
A first edition has been held in Japan in 2020, and Nagakute will host a new edition in 2022.
Dalia Ouziel, Jerrold Rubenstein and Vladimir Mendelssohn were the artistic directors from 1996 till 2008. In 2009, Daniel Rubenstein took over the Artistic Direction.
Fondé en 1995, le Festival Mozart est un événement unique de la musique de chambre. Il tire sa particularité du nombre exceptionnel de musiciens de renommée internationale qu'il rassemble. Les artistes arrivent à Waterloo quelques jours avant le premier concert et restent à résidence jusqu’à la fin du festival. Durant cette période, on peut parler d'une véritable émulation : les musiciens vivent et travaillent ensemble.
Depuis sa création, le Festival Mozart a donné plus de 170 concerts et réuni plus de 120 artistes, dont un nombre appréciable de musiciens étrangers de réputation internationale, des jeunes artistes en début de carrière, un compositeur en résidence, ainsi que des artistes peintres, luthiers.
Les concerts sont principalement donnés à Waterloo, notamment à l’église moderne Saint-Paul, là même où fût créé le festival il y a 25 ans.
Une première édition fut organisée au Japon en 2020, et la ville de Nagakute accueillera une nouvelle édition en 2022.
La direction artistique fut assurée par Dalia Ouziel, Jerrold Rubenstein and Vladimir Mendelssohn de 1996 à 2008. Daniel Rubenstein a repris la direction artistique du festival en 2009.
