Born in Brussels in 1971, Daniel Rubenstein graduated with Honors from the Royal Music Conservatory of Brussels (Belgium) as well as the Indiana University (USA) and has performed as a chamber musician or as a soloist in important venues in Belgium, Holland, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Luxembourg, Ireland, Bulgaria, Romania, Brazil, Turkey, Tunisia, Israel, South Korea and Japan.

Winner of the National Pro Civitate Competition (Axion Classics of Dexia Banque), 1st Prize of the national violin competition Edouard Deru and the national violin competition 'Young Virtuoso’ (Lioness Club) and winner of the Viola Concerto Competition of the Indiana University, Daniel Rubenstein gave his first solo concert at the age of 15 with the National Orchestra of Belgium under the direction of Mendi Rodan.

Daniel Rubenstein appeared in concerts halls such as the Manuel De Falla Auditorium (Granada, Spain), the National Concert Hall (Dublin , Ireland)), the Albert Long Hall and CRR Concert Series (Istanbul, Turkey), the Elisabeth Hall and the Singel (Antwerp - Belgium), the Tel-Aviv Museum, Haïfa Rapapurt Auditorium & Jerusalem Henry Crown Symphony Hall (Israel), the Henri Leboeuf Concert Hall (Brussels, Belgium), the Philharmonic Society of Oviedo and the National Auditorium of Murcia (Spain), the Minato Mirai Chamber Concert Hall (Yokohama - Japan), Antalya Filharmony (Turkey), performing notably with the Irish Radio Orchestra, the Chamber Orchestra of Wallonia, the Belgian Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Chamber Orchestra of Cascais & Oeiras (Portugal) or the Flanders Philharmonic Orchestra, with conductors such as André Vandernoot, Jean-Pierre Wallez, Proinssias O'Duin, Georges Octors and Ronald Zollman.

As a chamber musician, Daniel Rubenstein performed together with artists such as Hagaï Shaham, Yuzuko Horigome, Peter Zazofsky, Liviu Prunaru, Gil Sharon, Veronique Bogaerts, Vladimir Mendelssohn, Michael Haran, Herre-Jan Stegenga, Luc Dewez, Alexander Dmitriev, Marc Grauwels, Michel Lethiec, Ronald Van Spaendonck, Abdel-Rahman El Bacha, Brigitte Engerer, David Lively and Daniel Blumenthal. He premiered solo and chamber music works of composers such as Ariel Blumenthal, Kris Oelbrandt, Don Freund, Jan Van Landeghem, Michel Lysight, Oded Zehavi, and gave the first performance in Israel of Aviya Kopelman's Concerto for Violin and Ud (Nov 2004).

Regular partner in duo with pianist Muhiddin Dürrüoglu-Demiriz, violist of the 'Mahler Piano Quartet' and violist of the 'Guarneri String trio', Daniel Rubenstein is also the 1st violinist of the 'Mendelssohn Ensemble' (string quintet and sextet) and serves as Concertmaster of the Waterloo Soloists.

His recordings are published by Labels such as Talent Record, Kalidisc, Pavane Records & Contréclisse and includes with pianist Muhiddin Dürrüolgu the album “Suites & Partitas of Modern Times” for violin and piano which receives excellent critics from International music magazines and the album “Septentrion” for viola & piano (including the Vieuxtemps viola sonata and 3 World Premiere recordings). In the album “From East to West” he performs Bach concerto for 2 violins with Eyal Shiloach. Other CD recordings include as a solo violist the Mozart Sinfonia Concertante, the Chausson piano quartet and the 2nd string quartet by Van Landeghem.

After studying with Marie-Christine Springuel, José Pingen and his father Jerrold Rubenstein, Daniel Rubenstein studied with Marcel Debot, Philippe Hirshhorn, Miriam Fried and Franco Gulli and received further training with Nicolas Chumachenco and Boris Belkin. He also completed full studies as a pianist at the Royal Music Conservatory of Brussels and graduated as a violist in the class of Atar Arad (Indiana University).

Daniel Rubenstein is Violin Visiting professor and Viola professor at the Royal Music Conservatory of Mons (Belgium), teaching undergraduate and graduate students for their Master Degree. He is also Assistant-professor of Chamber Music at the Royal Music Conservatory of Brussels and Professor at the Eugène Ysaye Institute of Music of Brussels (Belgium) where he teaches violin, viola and chamber music.

In addition, he has conducted workshops and master-classes in Belgium, France, Japan, South Korea (Chonnan University), Turkey and Tunisia (Higher Institutes of Music).
